On Wednesday, corresponding to 29/10/1445 AH, Mustaqbal University, represented by the Student and Alumni Affairs Department, organized a meeting titled ‘Lawyering: Skills and Duties’. The event hosted the lawyer and legal advisor, Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Alshibrami. The meeting was attended by more than 200 participants from university students and community members. The meeting discussed several important aspects related to the legal profession, its skills, and duties. Dr. Alshibrami elaborated on the reasons that drive an individual to choose a career in law, emphasized the importance of ongoing training, and its role in honing the skills of emerging lawyers and enhancing their practical abilities. He also discussed the skills necessary for success in this field, such as negotiation, quick reading, quick-wittedness, persuasion, eloquence, and good writing. The speaker outlined the duties that lawyers must adhere to, such as honesty, diligence, continuous communication, knowledge acquisition, integrity, gentleness, respect and humility, maintaining the privacy of others, decency and good character, seeking justice, impartiality and the intention of upholding justice, and responsibility. He also shed light on the challenges and difficulties that lawyers may face during their professional journey, and how to build effective and influential relationships with others in the legal sector. At the end of the meeting, the floor was opened for attendees to ask questions, which were answered by Dr. Alshibrami, who praised the interaction and interest of the audience.
